Since 201 our family has had the goal to grow great berries and create a fun, safe, picking experience for our customers.
Through the years, despite considerable research, care, and attention, we have been disappointed in the quality of the raspberry plants. Raspberries are particularly susceptible to excessive amounts of rain like we have had over the past several years.
In contrast, the blackberries seem to thrive with our particular soil and weather conditions and produce the largest, most flavorful berries we have ever tasted. After much consideration, we have made the decision to phase out the red raspberries and focus on growing outstanding blackberries and making the smoothest blackberry jelly. For 2019, we will only have a few raspberries for pick-your-own.
In anticipation of these changes, the farm boys have been hard at working on woodworking projects that will be available for sale in the farm stand this season. Their work can be seen at FarmandWorkshop.com with new products added weekly.
We anticipate opening around August 1st and will update our website and Facebook page as we get closer. We hope to see you later this summer!
